Privacy Policy

This unified Privacy Policy describes how Ignite Tow Network handles data across our iOS mobile app, Android mobile app, and website. We believe in minimal data collection, direct access without mandatory accounts, and complete transparency.

Effective Date: August 16, 2026
Data Philosophy: Zero Account Requirement & On-Demand Proximity

No Account or Sign-In

Drivers and visitors can search, discover providers, and view profiles without creating an account or providing credentials.

Location Only for Distance

GPS coordinates are requested on-demand solely to calculate proximity to nearby towing providers. Never tracked in the background.

Direct Calling via Dialer

Tapping Call opens your phone's native dialer to reach providers directly. We never record, monitor, or intercept phone calls.

Local Anonymous Cache

Search history and 24-hour company caches are stored locally on your device for offline speed and are never uploaded or sold.

Section 01

Scope & Overview

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of Ignite Tow Network, including our iOS application (available on Apple App Store), our Android application (available on Google Play Store), our website located at https://tow.igniteoutsource.com, and all associated public application programming interfaces (APIs) and backend services.

Our mission is to help drivers find trusted local towing and automotive service companies quickly during roadside emergencies or planned vehicle transport. We design our technology from the ground up to respect user privacy and minimize data collection.

Section 02

Zero Account & No Sign-In Architecture

Our mobile applications and public website require NO account registration, login, email signup, or password creation for drivers and general users.

You can freely perform all core functions — searching for local towing companies, filtering by emergency services, inspecting verified business profiles, checking operating hours, reading reviews, and placing direct phone calls to providers — completely anonymously without providing your identity or creating a user profile.

Because we do not maintain driver user accounts, we do not store driver names, personal passwords, or persistent user tracking profiles in our databases.

Section 03

Mobile App Permissions (iOS & Android)

To provide functional roadside assistance discovery, our iOS and Android mobile apps declare specific device capabilities. Below is an exhaustive breakdown of every permission declared in our application manifests (such as AndroidManifest.xml and Info.plist) and exactly how it is used:

Platform Permission / Manifest Key Purpose & Functional Scope
Android ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION
ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION
On-Demand Proximity Calculation: When you choose to search "near me" or use your current location, the app requests your device's coordinates to calculate distance (in miles) to nearby towing companies and sort listings by proximity.
iOS NSLocationWhenInUseUsageDescription Foreground Proximity Only: Accessed only while using the app to sort local providers by nearest distance. Stated purpose: "To find towing companies near you and sort providers by proximity."
Android CALL_PHONE Direct Calling: Enables the app to pass a company's phone number to your device's native phone dialer when you tap the "Call" or "Emergency Call" buttons.
iOS & Android LSApplicationQueriesSchemes
queries (tel, https)
External URL Launcher: Allows opening telephone numbers (tel:), secure web links (https:) for provider websites, and external mapping apps (Google Maps / Apple Maps) for turn-by-turn directions.
iOS & Android INTERNET Network Communication: Required to query our secure API server (https://tow.igniteoutsource.com) to load verified company directories, business hours, reviews, and service photos.

Important Guarantees Regarding Location:

  • No Background Location: We never request or use background location access (ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION or Always location). Location is only read in the foreground when you initiate a search.
  • No Location Selling: We do NOT sell, lease, or distribute your GPS location coordinates to advertising networks, data brokers, or marketing partners.
  • Optional Permission: You may deny location permissions at any time. The app will remain fully functional by allowing you to manually type a city, state, or postal code to search for providers.
Section 04

Information We Process & How We Use It

Depending on how you interact with our platform, we handle limited categories of functional data:

A. Voluntary User Submissions

  • Public Reviews: If you voluntarily review a listed company, you provide a display name, star rating (1–5), and optional review comments. This content is published publicly to help other drivers make informed decisions.
  • Contact Inquiries: If you contact us via email or phone, we use your contact information solely to respond to your inquiry.

B. Voluntary Business Provider Submissions

  • Company Listing Submissions: Towing and automotive service operators who submit their business for inclusion provide company name, owner/contact person name, business telephone number, business email, physical address, business categories, services offered, business hours, and company imagery (logos, cover photos).
  • Listing Publication: Approved provider details are published publicly on Ignite Tow Network directories and profile pages.
Section 05

Local Storage & Anonymous Identifiers

To provide a fast, responsive, and spam-resistant experience without user accounts, our mobile app uses on-device local storage (via SharedPreferences) and our website uses browser localStorage for the following purposes:

  • Anonymous Visitor ID (ignite_visitor_id): A pseudorandom UUID v4 generated locally on your device. This identifier is sent as an HTTP header (x-visitor-id) when you vote on a review (thumbs up / helpful) or submit a rating. It allows our server to ensure one vote per review and prevent spam without requiring you to log in. It contains no personal information and is not linked to your identity.
  • Recent Searches (ignite_recent_searches): Stores your recent search terms locally on your device for your search bar convenience. This list never leaves your device.
  • Company Listing Cache (ignite_cached_companies): Temporarily caches directory company listings on your device with an automated 24-hour time-to-live (TTL) expiration. This enables offline browsing and instant loading without re-downloading data on every tap.
  • No Advertising Cookies: Our public web pages and mobile applications do not utilize third-party cross-site advertising cookies or commercial tracking pixels.
Section 06

Technical Server Logs & Abuse Prevention

When you connect to our servers, our infrastructure automatically processes standard internet transmission metadata for security and operational integrity:

  • IP Addresses & Rate Limiting: Client IP addresses are inspected by our web server to enforce rate limits (protecting the API against DDoS attacks, automated data scraping, and submission spam).
  • HTTP Diagnostic Headers: User-agent strings, request paths, HTTP response codes, and timestamps are logged temporarily in standard server diagnostics to monitor platform uptime and troubleshoot errors.
Section 07

Third-Party Interactions & Calling

Ignite Tow Network acts as a discovery platform connecting drivers with independent service providers. When utilizing certain features, you interact with third-party services:

  • Direct Phone Calls to Towing Providers: When you tap a phone number or call button, your device initiates a cellular phone call directly to the independent towing business through your mobile service carrier. Ignite Tow Network does not operate as an intermediary PBX, does not record call audio, does not listen to conversations, and does not store call logs.
  • Mapping & Navigation Providers: When you tap "Get Directions" or view external maps, you may be directed to Google Maps, Apple Maps, or OpenStreetMap. Their respective privacy policies govern your navigation interactions.
  • Geocoding Services: We use OpenStreetMap / Nominatim to convert general search queries (such as city names or postal codes) into geographic coordinates for directory filtering.
  • Transactional Email & Webhooks: We utilize Resend and Zapier solely for administrative email delivery and routing listing inquiries submitted by business owners.
  • No Mobile Information Sharing: No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with or sold to any third parties under any circumstances.
  • External Links & Social Media: Our platform includes links to external business websites and our official social media channels (LinkedIn, Instagram). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites.
Section 08

Provider Listings & Public Directory Content

Business information displayed in our directory (including company names, business phone numbers, service areas, and business addresses) is intended for public discovery by drivers needing assistance.

Business owners who wish to claim, update, modify, or remove their business listing can do so at any time by contacting us at info@igniteoutsource.com.

Section 09

AI Roadside Assistant (TowMate)

Our website and mobile apps feature TowMate, an AI-powered roadside knowledge assistant designed to answer questions about towing services, roadside safety, vehicle impound processes, and platform navigation.

Chat interactions are processed using structured knowledge bases (Retrieval-Augmented Generation). We log chat queries and session identifiers to generate accurate conversational responses and monitor system quality. We recommend that users avoid submitting sensitive personal information (such as credit card numbers or government IDs) in chat messages.

Section 10

Data Retention & Cache Lifecycle

  • Public Directory Listings: Retained for the duration of the company's listing on Ignite Tow Network.
  • Reviews & Upvotes: Retained indefinitely to maintain authentic community feedback and rating calculations, subject to moderation and removal upon valid request.
  • On-Device Cache: Company listing caches on mobile devices are automatically purged after 24 hours.
  • Server Access Logs: Automatically rotated and purged on standard server maintenance cycles.
Section 11

Ignite Tow Network offers SMS text messaging communications to business owners and individuals who submit their business for inclusion in our directory, request customer support, or consent to text updates.

A. Strict Non-Sharing Policy for Mobile Data

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with or sold to any third parties under any circumstances.

G. Carrier Liability

Mobile carriers (including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and regional wireless carriers) are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Section 12

Security Architecture

We implement robust technical and organizational measures to safeguard all platform traffic:

  • HTTPS/TLS Encryption: All network traffic between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit using industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.2+).
  • Strict Security Headers: Our web servers enforce HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS), Content Security Policy (CSP), X-Frame-Options (clickjacking prevention), and X-Content-Type-Options via Helmet.
  • Rate Limiting & DDoS Mitigation: Specialized rate limiters defend against brute-force attacks and abuse.
Section 13

Your Rights, Choices & Permission Controls

You have full control over your device permissions and data:

  • Revoking Location Access: You can enable or disable location services at any time through your device operating system settings (iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Ignite Tow Network; Android: Settings > Apps > Ignite Tow Network > Permissions > Location).
  • Clearing Local Data: You can clear your search history or cached directory listings by clearing app storage (on Android/iOS) or clearing browser cache and site data (on web).
  • Review & Content Requests: If you submitted a review or represent a listed business and wish to request an edit or deletion, please contact us at info@igniteoutsource.com.
Section 14

Children's Privacy

Our services are intended for drivers, vehicle operators, and automotive service providers (general audience ages 16 and older). We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact us immediately so we can remove it.

Section 15

Policy Updates & Notifications
